Dussehra Celebrations at Kanyakumari -

The Dussehra celebration down South India is very grand and different from the other parts of the country... Above video is of the procession which was conducted before the burning of the Ravan effigy.. There were people dressed in costumes of god and goddesses, elephants, women carrying umbrellas and the carraige in which the idol from the main temple was being carried. They procession would end at a ground 12-14 km ahead post which there would classical dance shows and the burning of Ravaan
